The start of the swimming stage begins on the central beach of Cervia, the participants start in groups depending on the expected finish result. Athletes will swim 2 laps counterclockwise in the Adriatic Sea according to the Australian system – running out of the water between the laps. In the course of 1 circle, there will be 4 turns, on the second circle there will be 2 turns. The distance is marked by swimming buoys. Wetsuits are required if the water temperature is below 16 ° C. At a temperature of 16-24.5 ° C, wetsuits are allowed at the discretion of the athlete. Above 28.77 ° C – wetsuits are prohibited.
The cycle route is laid through a nature park. The track is of medium difficulty, twisting – 2 rounds on a round-trip basis with a total climb of 750 meters.
The running stage consists of 4 laps through the most famous sights of Cervia and the resort of Milano Marittima. The total climb is 100 meters.
To get the start number you will need an identity card and a license to participate in triathlon competitions. It is also necessary to show a medical certificate authorizing you to practice triathlon. The medical certificate must be issued by an authorized Italian sports medicine center, not older than 1 year prior to the date of the competition and with the obligatory mention: “for triathlon”.
The nearest major international airport is in Rimini – about 30 km. You can get from the airport to Cervia by train or taxi. Also nearby are Bologna (90 km) and Forlì (30 km) airports.
